Trimmer/Processor/Packager 

Position Summary

This is a flex position, meaning you will be required to fill different roles depending on client needs and garden lifecycles. This position involves: trimming a wide variety of strains, sorting processed material, bucking down product, weighing out material, packaging, and labeling with care.

Description

We value our trimmers as they are the core of our client’s business – that is why we have the highest paid trimmers in the area! In all roles you must maintain a high level of efficiency and organization. This position requires you to be a self-starter and work independently. You must be able to self-motivate and be production oriented. As a trimmer, you will be trained according to company standards. Each individual client has a particular trim style and different needs, so you must be adaptable and willing to learn. Job Type: Full-time Schedule: Monday through Friday, various day time hours. Occasional weekends may be required

Duties/Responsibilites/Tasks

  • Use scissors and pruners to break down material for 8 hours a day (repetitive hand labor)
  • Attention to detail to separate materials and keep material organized
  • Maintain cleanliness of trim room and all tools
  • Continuous sanitation of work areas, including proper glove use
  • Wear PPE correctly which may include scrubs or labcoat, hair nets, face masks, and booties
  • Trimming includes a variety of strains and styles
  • Dry and wet trimming
  • Packaging includes labeling, joint rolling, jarring, and weighing
  • You may be trained to use certain mechanical equipment in facilities
  • You may participate in occasional garden work such as pruning, deleafing, and watering
  • Job assignments are across the Bay Area so flexibility with travel required

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must be able to work in the U.S
  • Must pass background check
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Willing to be trained according to HMTC standards and accept feedback
  • Be professional and reliable
  • Flexible with schedule (start times vary from 7:30-10 am)
  • Strong work ethic and take pride and responsibility in your work
  • Ability to trim 450g per day minimum
  • Cannabis experience required

Supervisor

Position Summary

This position will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the trim and/or packaging process. This includes ensuring all SOP’s are being followed and Quality Control. It will be critical to follow systems that ensure products are accurately processed and tracked while supervising the efficient workflow throughout the process.

Description

Our teams move around to our client facilities and the client needs vary; therefore some assignments may be a few days or a few months. The supervisor will not always move around with the same team as the team is assembled based on independent contracts. If you like to work in an environment where you get to move around to different cities, work varying hours, meet new people, and learn new things then this is the job for you! Job Type: Full time

Duties/Responsibilites/Tasks

  • Manage and direct activites of the staff, including supervising a team of 5-10 employees
  • Checking staff work constantly to ensure Quality Control
  • Training, development, and performance evaluations
  • Create, develop & utilize all resources to provide training and support employee orientation
  • Have a good working knowledge of California employment laws and regulations
  • Monitor that daily check in/out process for staff is followed by client & company
  • Ensure staff is following all protocols and in compliance with state regulations
  • Keep accurate processing logs for trimmers and record keeping for error management
  • Weekly supply audits
  • Make sure storage of ‘works-in-progress’ is in compliance and organized to preserve product
  • Ability to lead in difficult situations, customer-service focused, lead by example with positive attitude
  • Organize, clean, and oversee tools/equipment/work space
  • Communicate effectively with management and client
  • Work with Field Manager to achieve client/company goals and timeline
  • Monitor staff schedule and attendance
  • Responsible for ensuring accuracy for all team members in proper trim etiquette, strain recognition,
  • company trim standards, inventory, and production numbers
  • Verify harvest batch bins and paperwork to ensure no damage or infected material and correct strain labeling
  • Provide informal and formal feedback as well as coaching to team
  • Understand, interpret, and refine trimming procedures to meet local, state, industry, and company standards
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement and rapidly expand new best practices across teams
  • All other necessary duties assigned by management

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution preferred, but not required
  • Cannabis trim experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of managerial experience
  • Customer service/client satisfaction experience
  • Able to work a flexible schedule where the hours may change frequently
  • Able to work weekends on occasion if needed
  • Excellent organizational, motivational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train groups of diversified employees
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Basic computer skillls and ability to learn and train on new apps quickly

What locations can you help me get a cannabis job in?

High Maintenance Trim Co is based in Oakland and works with employers throughout the Bay Area, including the major cities (Oakland, San Francisco, San Jose), North Bay (Richmond area), and Dublin/Livermore/Tracy area. We plan to expand across all of Northern, Central, and Southern California in the near future!

Is HMTC a temp agency, or a staffing agency?

We are NOT a temp agency! We hire staff as W2 employees and offer full-time, continuous job placements. Though you may work at multiple job sites, you are always working as our employee and will have a HMTC Supervisor and Field Manager on duty at all times.

What type of pay structure does HMTC offer?

Depending on the type of job, we pay employees an above average wage combination of hourly pay and bonuses. This means there are frequent opportunities to be paid by weight when trimming.

Where will I be placed if I am hired?

A requirement of working for us is having transportation and flexibility to be able to work at multiple job locations throughout the Bay Area. You will be placed according to our current client needs, with your home location taken into consideration.
